Adidas Ultraboost Shoes

The footwear industry is one of the fastest-growing segments in e-commerce, and one of the most demanding when it comes to product presentation. Shoppers can't try shoes on through a screen, which makes visual accuracy everything. Traditional 2D photography, however polished, can only do so much: it flattens texture, loses depth and leaves customers guessing about the real look and feel of a shoe.
3D scanning changes that equation entirely. An interactive 3D model lets customers rotate, zoom and inspect a shoe from every angle, examining the knit texture of the upper, the geometry of the midsole, the grip pattern of the outsole. For brands and retailers, this translates directly into higher purchase confidence, fewer returns and a more compelling product experience. For performance footwear like the Adidas Ultraboost, where material quality and construction are key selling points, an accurate 3D representation is a commercial advantage.
For this Scan of the Month, we placed an Adidas Ultraboost on the glass turntable of our Momentum 2.0, selected the appropriate scan settings and closed the scanner. The full capture was complete in under 2 minutes, with no complex preparation, no specialist knowledge required.
The resulting image set was processed and reconstructed using Metashape, producing a detailed, full-color 3D model that faithfully captures the shoe's Primeknit upper, Boost midsole foam and Continental rubber outsole. Every surface variation, material transition and structural detail is preserved at true scale. The result is a production-ready asset that could feed directly into an e-commerce product page, a configurator, an AR try-on experience or a digital product catalog, demonstrating just how quickly the Momentum can turn physical footwear into high-quality digital content.
